SINKING:

When you're floating, you start moving and

then you fall beneath water.

FLOATING:

Floating is staying above the surface

Good Little Netbook

As the screen begins to fade and flicker, I shut you down and close your cover. But I cannot get through a day without you. You know how much I need you in all I do, but then I read a lot you know and from the pages these thoughts flow. Therefore, you jumble within and die. These thoughts which I cannot write. Good little net book you’re such a delight.

Mary Mackillop

Just when Mrs.Williams asked for us to make our way to the hall. Once I saw a painting in the centre of the stage, I knew that it was the Mary Mackillop Show. While the hall went quiet, the show started.

Mary Mackillop was just a 12 year old girl who lived with her little baby brother and father. They lived in a farm. Ever since she was a little girl, her whole life she dreamed to be a nun. When she grew up, her wish came true. Mary helped out a poor boy called Kelly who selled matches, luckily Mary helped him out and made him go to school at St.Josephs for free.

Suddenly bad news was delivered to Mary about one of the Sisters of St Joseph. It was a slimy accident. Mary wanted to help but when she got there she was to late.... she had died. When she said her goodbyes she saw her brother all grown up as a priest. She remembered him as a little baby, a drunk nurse was babysitting him but just in time Mary fired her.

Matariki (Seven Stars)

In the past few weeks, I learnt about Matariki.Matariki is a Maori name for a group of stars, also known as the Pleiades or The Seven Sisters. Matariki has two meanings. Mata Riki (Tiny Eyes) and Mata Ariki (Eyes of God).

Today it means celebrating the place that we live in and giving respect. It's also a time for new harvests, and offerings to the land-based Gods: Rongo, Uenuku and Whiro to make sure that all good crops are for the coming year.

My Maths Reflection

What I learnt in maths this week was place value. We had to display the answers using money. Even if my group was loud, unless it was something to do with place valuing. For example,84+63=
1.80+20=100 2.100+40=140 3.4+3=7 4.140+7=147.
So the answer to 84+63 is 147.

The Ascension

In Room 7, what I learnt in Religious Education was The Ascension.
It's about Jesus ascending to heaven, and going back to his father. He promised his disciples that the Holy Spirit will descend upon them.
