What I learnt

This week in Maths I learnt how to jump through a tidy number line to solve a problem e.g.
49+?=94
49+1=50+40=90+4=94
1+40+4=45
How do I know if my answer is right.
49+45=94 (9+5=14, 40+40=80+14=94)

Playing Basketball

“DON’T STOP DRIBBLING KEEP GOING” yelled Coach Bruce. The white team were in the lead. There were just a few cones left that weren’t flipped. One more left and..........THE WHITES WIN!!

We were just in our classroom doing what we normally do on a Monday morning when Miss Bell, the secretary, told us if we were ready. I was wondering, what we were suppose to get ready for. Oh, we were having Basketball. Finally I get to know what a real game of Basketball is all about.

First things first, he told us how to dribble the ball. You can’t hit the ball on your palm because the ball won’t bounce back and, you can not bend forward or else you’ll damage your back and put a lot a weight on your thighs.

Next, we played a very hard game. We got into groups of five, I was in the White team. There were cones spread everywhere. There was green, white, red, and blue cones. The aim of the game was to flip over your team’s cone and dribble the ball at the same time. It looked hard but really, it was easy. We had one more round and then we left.

Basketball was really interesting, I learnt that if you show respect to others, you will get respect too.

Ginetta’s adventures in The Matchbox happen between 1937 and 1945. During this time a man named Benito Mussolini ruled Italy. In 1936, Italy, Germany and Japan banded together to support each other as they tried to take over the world. This was the start of World War II in 1939. Although 6 countries from all over the world tried to stop them, the war lasted for 6 years.

First Time

It was after Holiday Programme, Angelica and Waterlily had just planned to go pools. They asked if I could come but, I just remembered I was going Carl’s Jr with my brother Stani. ‘Which one should I choose?’ I chose wisely. I've been to the pools millions of times and it's kind of weird getting changed in front of everybody, plus it was raining and I didn't want to get sick. So Carl’s Jr........ HERE I COME!!

I was really excited to go, it was my first time. I had a big juicy Guacamole burger, Chips and a Drink. My brother just had sushi from Bruce Lee's Sushi Store. Once I finished the burger, I was full, I felt like I just ate 2 cheese burgers. When we got home I saw take-away at the table it looked so nice but I was so full, oh well I'll have take-away next time.

St Pius X Opening Mass 2012

Friday was a very special day, it was St Pius X Opening Mass for the year, 2012. All the classes were gathered in the church. Room 7 was leading the mass and I was in charge of the music, together with Robertanna.

After the collect prayer was the first reading. The message that I learnt from the first reading is that the more you work the more you achieve. I also learnt two new words , ‘loaf’ and ‘burden’, which means lying around doing nothing. Burden, means you are a problem or a pain.

At the end of the mass, before Father Iosefa said the final blessing, he asked the school staff to come up to the altar, so the students could bless them. Bless them for another learning year and to give them strength.

The mass was beautiful I loved every bit of it.
