Three Pigs and their Mama

We had a script that we had to make into a movie. This was a lot of fun. We also had the opportunity to use our new IT equipment and our new Mac computer, which was great. I hope you enjoy our movie.

Racing nervously to each vehicle on a Wednesday morning, making our way to Pt England where all the Glen Innes Primary schools were.

Once we stepped foot on Pt England school grounds, a lot of schools were sitting patiently for the schools to arrive so that we can begin the first race which was the 400m. Legs straight, palms sweaty and heart racing as the blocks were smashed together.
Off we went around the field in circles two times, I was almost out of breath and my legs were beginning to wobble and feel weak. Past the finish line I ran and came 1st, I couldn’t believe my eyes, coming first in the 400 metres, now that was a tiring race.

I tried to settle down and relax my legs so that I didn’t tumble and fall in all of the races.
Coming first was very exhausting so I came 3rd in the finals which was the 75 metres.

Finally every individual race was complete, except for the relays, the school that won the relays was the unbelievable TAMAKI PRIMARY.

It was nearly the end of Athletics, but the teachers had to lunch together so they went off to the Pt.England staff room and had lunch together. Some Pt.England helpers took care of us by keeping a eye on each person.

Just when Mr. Coakley came back from his long conversation, we headed back to school safe and sound. I Came 1st in softball throwing, discus and 400m also 3rd in the 75m.

WHAT A TOUGH BUT ENERGISING DAY!

The Exhilerating Moment

In a far off place no further than the distance from the sky to the land, four hundred or more humans settled down at Hoyts Cinema in Sylvia Park, staring at a blank X-treme screen

While everyone came together as a cluster for the Tamaki Film Festival, darkness was approaching. Once people leaned on their seats with excitement, they were getting ready to SCREAM!

What made some of the students laugh out loud was a movie called ‘Jandal Man’ by Panmure Bridge. It tells you a little bit about 'Jandal Man' and what you can do with a plain old jandal, but in a classic way, like cutting a cake, waking someone up, etc.

WOW what a suprise to see students participating in their movies, everyone should be proud and wishing to go back in time and watch the movies again and again.

My Past,Present and Future

1. Term 3
What I really enjoyed in term 3 was designing and making our very own ice-creams together with our companies. I was excited and surprised to everyone in Rm 6 getting along so they could represent what they had designed for Rm 3. Now that morning tea was over, Rm 3 got the chance to decide who they wanted to vote for and it was the KIDS MIXTURE Company. Even though my group didn’t win,but at least I had a really mess day putting ingredients into my groups ice-cream.

2.Holidays
Finally the holidays were here, just at the right time. HOORAY! It was in the beginning of the holidays, there I was just watching T.V. and eating the left-over jelly. All of a sudden I heard this knock at the door, I had a little peek, it was Maia and Simone. When I opened the door for them,“Who’s home with you?” Maia looked around to see if and families of mine were hear, but no one was at sight except me.
While we were still standing, Maia and Simone came in and kept me company, suddenly when we were all quiet in ran Catherine who just came back from Angelica’s house and still wearing her P.J’s, Catherine just stood there trying to catch her breath from all that running. Now that she got her breath back Catherine walked to Simone and Maia and hugged them. Next Angelica walked in said hi and sat down on the couch, waiting for something fun to happen.
“Why can’t we have a picnic?” yelled Catherine,we all agreed with her and made our way to the kitchen, cooking with all the food that were in the cupboards. We all went to work and finished at the right time, the sun was still shinning upon us, so Angelica and I laid the mat on the ground and through in some equipment etc to entertain us. The sun was almost setting and we were still sitting their watching the sun go down slowly. Once it was dark and silent we packed up everything and dropped off Maia and Simone to their home sweet homes.

3.Term 3
Now that it is Term 4 we (Rm6), are still working on our film for the Film Festival, we have had a little practise around half of the school before the Yr 7’s went to Technology. After that the Yr 6’s came in and made some posters for the film while the vocalists practised talking and remembering the words backwards.
Finally the Yr 7’s were back and we started filming everything from the beginning but it wasn’t a practise it was the real thing. Once we were finished the whole of Rm 6 had a treat for their hard work.
My goal for term 4 is to work on the things I have never finished, also what I’m looking forward to is going to the zoo with the juniors from our school.
I wonder if we are going to have a good time?

Oh What a Nite!

I came out of the shower and was drying myself and getting dressed into my best clothes.
When I was done and ready to go, a friend of my brothers called Sia was sitting outside my house, waiting for me to step foot on the concrete. She started putting eye liner on my face because we were heading to the school Disco. “Done!” she said, so I ran to the top of the school driveway and saw a lot of vehicles coming up the drive way.

“Hi Ofa” Agnes yelled at the top of her voice, while I was walking calmly to the office.
As Catherine and I raced to the hall, we payed Miss G 2 dollars, which was the admission fee to get into the Disco. Everyone had been sitting down for 2 to 3 minutes because they were nervous.

Latai then stood up and started moving to the beat of the music.
Within seconds, everybody stood up from their seats and began dancing like psychos.
In the hall the lights were not bright anymore. Just about 7:00pm I saw Anita with her little sister sitting there like 2 people couldn’t find their way home. I asked Anita “What’s the matter?” she answered “I want to take my little sister home but I can’t, because it’s way to dark,” my heart was filled with pity so I let Anita have fun and I stayed behind looking after her little sister.
There I sat, waiting and watching, people dancing and eating.
Later on I saw Anita’s Mum wondering around trying to find her little baby daughter, so I sent Anita’s little sister to her Mum.

Now the Disco was almost finished. I had to do something, so I got up and started dancing for the last 30 minutes.
Finally the the disco was finished, everybody was sweaty and tired, so they all headed off home.

Racing Day

So it happened on Wednesday 1 September about 9:30 when I was getting ready for the Cross Country. Standing outside infront of Room 5 waiting for Mr Gaffeny to open the door. Out came Sir and the people that didn’t go stayed behind and went to individual classes like Rm 2, 3, 4 and 6.

Next we walked off to one of the vehicles that Mr.Coakley told us to go in.

I was feeling the nervousness now, something I had never felt. My heart was pumping, I think I was going to faint by now I wanted to get it over and done with. Alot of excited people could be seen too. Out of everyone that I was going to run for was for my Nana.

The way I was running when it was my turn for the 11 year olds was jogging it. While I was in-front of a Point England girl I tried to sprint it with all the energy that I had in me and I made it.

Finally I made it, I came 1st.

I was relieved that it was over. All the hard work came to use. Hearing voices from all directions, saying “Yaay“ and “congratulations.”

Now for the prize giving, the announcer called out my name and the school that I came from. Everyone that came to the Cross Country began screaming and clapping. I started laughing. Just when I walked up there I was very proud and happy because I did this for my Nana and I did everything for her with all my might.

After all that hard work, and prize giving, we all headed back to school.
People were hanging around me and asking what place did I come. “First” I said and everyone thought that no-one would come first, but they were wrong.

My favourite thing about the Cross Country was when Robertanna, Angelica ,Tokilupe Emelia and I sneaked off to the toilets cause I was busting, so Robertanna, Angelica, Tokilupe and Emelia showed me the way to the toilet but they didn’t ask Miss Ana if we could go. Suddenly Miss Ana was trying to find us and she was coming to the girls toilet. We, the girls, hid in one of the toilets. Miss Ana said “Is anybody here?” and someone with a squeaky little voice shouted “NO”. Laughter began coming out, we came out of the toilets and we were still laughing, but Miss Ana gave us a little growl for not asking.

Talent Quest

On Friday 20 August, a whole lot of people began to scream and scurry around the classrooms, waiting for the bell to ring any minute.
“RRRRIIIINNNNGGGG!” aloud went the bell, the people started to get changed into their costumes.
The students all lined up outside the Hall, feeling completely frozen and impatient, trying to wait for the signal telling them when to come in. When everyone was settled down on their seats. Mr Coakley walked over to the centre of the stage. He asked for the first group to come up to the stage.

It was nearly over ..... but later on he said for “Daniel, Angelica, Kahlanie, Francis and I” to come to the front. I started to have stage fright coming out of everywhere in my body, so I just looked up and didn’t care about the audience. All I cared about was just to try my best.

We all sat down on a chair each, then Daniel and me began strumming and plucking on the guitar and Ukulele, also Francis trying to make up a beat on the drums together with the song. It was up to my part, and I was really nervous so I tried the best I could to impress everyone, a tear came out of my eye so I removed it while I was still singing.

Finished at last!! I was really proud of myself, because I didn’t know I had a voice like that.
What my favourite thing about the Talent Quest was standing up there getting ready to sing.

Media Studies

It was on the fourth day of Media Studies, and the year 6 were so excited. Just when the year 7 were about to leave, the year 6 had to stay behind and begin half of there Media Studies because it was nearly morning tea time.As soon as year 6 students were getting started and trying to think with there thinking caps, the year 7 and 8 students were about to leave we, Rm 6 had to sit on the mat. After that Miss.G told us what to do next after morning tea.

Straight after morning tea, she taught us, year 6 how to edit something on the computer. Later on each team had something to do like, taking pictures, recording and especially editing on the computer.

My team, the Power Shots had to take 2 more pictures.

Finally it was time to edit,it was kind of difficult to do but I got use to it.
While each of us, The Power Shots were still on our editing we had a little help from my friend, Angelica. At last we had finished after the bell rang.

PHEW!

Virtues Assembly

Out, we walked through the door after morning tea to the hall on Monday 2 August. We got settled in our positions, ready for the assembly to show everyone a new virtue.
To start off the assembly the whole school turned their faces to the projector,30 minutes with Rm6 6 and Poof popped out Fetuli telling us what the virtue was, but first a prayer from Waterlily at the Grotto standing next to the lovely Mary, and then it went back to Fetuli. The virtue is "RESPONSIBILITY!", Fetuli said "Over to you Rm 6", and that was when we performed our short acting for what the word Responsibility means.
When it had finished, the one that made one of my bones crack was Robertanna's group, a boy as a nana.Fetuli came up again and was surprised of what we did in 30 minutes with Rm 6. Emmanuel stood in front of everyone and asked Mr.Coakley to hand out the certificates for the good ones around the school, and after that Emmanuel told Mrs.Pole to do the Caught Being Good, for the people who got caught being wonderful.
It came to an end and everyone sang the virtue song together and Mrs.Williams dismissed some classes.
Everyone walked out the door with smiles on their faces...
WHAT A WONDERFUL DAY!

The Duffy Theatre

To begin with a lovely warm day on the 20 July. Just when it was the afternoon and the clock struck 1, I was very excited about what was going to happen. It was the...... DUFFY THEATRE, I couldn’t wait to long so finally when it was 1:30 I jumped up and was ready to go to the hall.
When we got there I heard alot of people chatting while they waited for the show to begin. Once everyone was settled, at last, the show began. I heard sweet music coming from infront and 3 people came walking up for everyone to see.
Next the lovely actors introduced themselves, the names of the 3 actors were Tongs, Sam and Channel. Later on Sam started to look everywhere for Duffy.
With a hat jumping in the air, out jumped Duffy with his back facing the audience. Duffy walked up to Tongs and Channel and said “Hi” to them. They both tried to tell Duffy to turn but he didn’t know what was happening at the back of him.
Trying to tell him to turn around was a little bit hard for them and Duffy told them “What is all this ruckess?” So he just turned around. But when Duffy turned right around, he started questioning them.
Tongs and Channel then marched their bottoms back stage.
Laughter began coming from nowhere.
A big word showed right infront of Duffy’s face, it was called ‘Duffy’s Big O.E.”, we tried to figure out what it might be? “Ah” said Duffy,
“The words is DUFFY”S BIG OCCUPATION EXPLORATION!”.

“Shake,Shake” went the marackers, and out came 2 other people singing.
Eventually Tongs and Channel told Duffy to “Spiiin the Wheel”. Tongs spun Duffy around and Duffy spun to hard that he landed on the wall so hard that it looked like he was going to get a bruise in the middle of his forehead. Just when he landed on the wall he also landed on the ground. Duffy stood up and told someone to help him spin the wheel, he chose one person from the audience.
Fonuamotu a student from Rm1 stood up and made his way to the spinning wheel, Fonuamotu then stood next to the spinning wheel, and it looked like I was looking at him in the future when he was standing next to Duffy.
Duffy picked another person from the audience, and it was Fetuli a student from Rm 6.
Fetuli made her way to a medium sized box. Fetuli laid there waiting for something to happen. Duffy hoped that she was going to be alright. Channel told us some information about ‘Doctors and Nurses’, and that was when Duffy got worried.
Channel began the operation, suddenly I saw Tongs whispering into Fetuli’s ear. I was really eager because I wanted to know what Tongs was telling in Fetuli in her ear. First Channel needed a screw-driver, I was thinking, “Why would he use a screw-driver in a operation?”
Channel answered “We use this in Samoa”.
“Aaaaaahhh” screamed Fetuli, she was thumping her feet on the box.
I was very shocked it felt like I was going to faint, also I thought she was actually dying.
The operation was almost finished and they showed her brain.
Up stood the talented Fetuli, she walked up to Duffy, and Duffy was thinking if it was back in its place of they just put it there so it could fall off .
Now Duffy thanked Fetuli for being a lovely assistant, so for her good work she received an awesome book. The show now came to an end and everyone were very entertain by the show, that they wanted them to do it again.
“Stomp,Stomp” out walked the students back to their work, and off they went home, except for the Yr 7 and 8 netball girls.

Firewise Mad Movie Challenge

Now this competition movie was entered by me so that my group 'Phrases' could make a movie that is different. It was a challenge for all of us when we were planning it, but we tried to make the movie for the audience to like alot. My feelings about the movie was that I was very excited because we always had to skipped the school work and begin filming. All I could think of is wanting to be on Television LIVE! in front of everyone who watches Studio 2. Keep your fingers crossed for us.

CHECK IT OUT!

The Netball Experience

It was a very thrilling moment for the year 6 and 5, for it was the Netball Tournament. A few students were thinking very carefully of what they should remember. Next the bell rang, I was so tired that I wanted to do my work like I usaully do, but I didn't want to let my team down.

After that when everyone was prepared for the day we headed off to the Morrin Road Netball courts. There were alot of courts around that the year 5 and 6 thought that we were going to play in each court but luckily for them it was only 6 that we were playing in.

Straight ahead they saw people warming up so they did the same thing to keep their hearts pumping. Suddenly there was this loud chime calling from afar, so we ran as quickly as we could and sat down. There was a lady who looked like an umpire who talked about what was happening and when she was finished at last, we started. First it was Tamaki Primary, and so on.

At the end was really hard for the year 6's because we were challenging Pt England. They were really hard at first, but we tried and tried until we made it, we won "HOORAY!" we said. Alot were very surprise for what we had accomplished. Now that is a job well done. As for the year 5 students, they lost one and they had a tye with another school and won the rest, but at least they tried their best to win.

The New Furniture

It was on a warm Monday to start the beginning of a new week, and the Rm 6 students were quite excited because they knew that the new furniture was coming. Now that the tote-trays were inside the classroom with our stationary in it, I felt like things were changing. So me and the rest of students in Rm 6 got straight into making the classroom a different place. We finally brang the tables in and sat down very quietly and wrote all our thoughts and what we had been doing all morning.

The Athletics Day!

Every single student was very excited on Friday 19 March 2010. After the bell rang right on time, it told us that we had to get changed and to have a little play around.
Suddenly the bell rang again, we started to line up in our group teams. We then rushed off to the fields and sat straight up. Mrs. Tui gave us 10 points to start with. Once we were silent Miss. G began to speak on the microphone. It was time for us to start the races. First it was the 5 year olds. Next it was the 6 year olds, and so on.
When I heard the number 10, I stood up and walked over to Mrs. Pole. As I was getting ready, my heart was racing and my legs were shaking. Mrs. Pole then clapped the blocks together. I started to speed off like a Jamaican record breaker to the finish line, "Yes, I made it" I said to myself.
The 100 meter race was quite excellent because I actually came 1st.
Just as I was waiting, I heard the word 200 meters. I saw Fetulimoeata and Molimoli (my sister), I really wanted to go back, but I said in my head "No, don't give up, try your best. You can do it."
On the line I stood calm, took one breath and BOOM went the blocks, I was jogging at first, but when the girls were tired I pushed myself in front of Fetulimoeata and I came 1st. I was very surprised because I thought I was hopeless but I was fine. It was like the colours of the rainbow while I was running.
It was now time for......NOVELTY RACES! There was Marble on a Spoon, Wheel-barrow, 3 legged race etc.
We finally walked back to our home teams because I was really tired of running and chasing.
I felt so confused because everyone was in my head trying to tell me to come 1st.
